I have always loved working with kids and I always knew my life's work would involve kids, education and creativity, somehow. This led me to begin studying elementary education at Metropolitan State College of Denver. During that time, I began working at a Recreation Center "Summer Day Camp" and eventually made my way up to being the Director of School Aged Children's Programs for the City of Ft. Lupton. While working for the City of Ft. Lupton I also taught in their Preschool Program and helped implement their After School Program. I've definitely worked with a variety of age groups! Currently, I work as a Student Advocate for Desiderata School. I tutor & work with the Middle School Group, support community outreach, help maintain our social media presence as well as devote time to our continual fundraising efforts.

I really enjoy my time with Desiderata. I learn so much from the students and find each one unique and intriguing. I too was a student of Desiderata School, and graduated in 2000. My experience as a student has helped me in many ways as an instructor. I remember what worked for me, and what did not, I remember the classes I had the most fun taking, the value of the relaxed atmosphere, and all of the great people who helped me along the way. My experience at Desiderata has helped me in knowing just how to relay supportive thoughts and helpful ideas to my students. I am a proponent of the easygoing and comfortable learning environment that Desiderata offers. I really enjoyed that aspect as a student and continue to appreciate it as a Sponsor."
