Co-Director Pandi Spence

“I have had the privilege of working with Desiderata students for over 15 years. I began working in education with the Fairbanks, AK North Star School District, where I spent two years as a Professional Educational Interpreter working in the SPED department, working with deaf and  LD students. Upon returning to Colorado, I began working at Desiderata School as a Student Sponsor, and moved into the position of Curriculum Counselor in 1997."

"In addition to sponsoring students, I also was comissioned to find, create, and supply quality curriculum that met Desiderata's curricular standards, while keeping in mind varied learning styles, interests, and goals of the students who used the curriculum. A majority of my effort was concentrated on finding curriculum not presently available in a subject area or format that was needed."

"In January 2000, Larame and I became the Directors of Desiderata School. My current position as a Director keeps me incredibly busy, as I not only continue on as Curriculum Counselor, but also am Human Resources Director and Parent/School Liaison. Larame and I have invested our lives in the school, and most importantly, in the students. We view each new student as an opportunity to share our passion for education and learning in an environment that makes them feel safe, at home, valued, and loved.”
