Triumph Program

Desiderata offers three major options for enrollment, maintaining the option to further individualize each major option as necessary for specific students. Each different program is designed to make the most of a given learning style or life-style:

1-Directed-Independent.png

Directed Independent Study: Some students need as much assistance as possible with motivation and progress. Typically these students are remarkably creative and often physically active.  Students who may have particular difficuly completing and submitting homework and/or students described as ADD or ADHD are prime candidates for this program.

2-Assisted-Independent.png

Assisted Independent Study: Some students are best served with a more flexible schedule allowing them to study and complete course assignments in between or around other obligations.  These students are generally more self-motivated and may feel frustration at the need to sit through long classes to receive credit for coursework they would prefer to complete individually.

3-Distance-Learning.png

Distance Learning: Students who do not have a local Student Center may be best served with a program that does not require physical attendance, but rather allows communication at a distance.

Directed Independent

The Directed Independent Study program is our most popular and successful enrollment option. The program is ideal for students who understand material more completely when it is practiced immediately after it is presented. Homework is minimized, Sponsor involvement is continual, and students are encouraged to ask questions and instigate discussion with Sponsors on a daily basis.

Students in this program attend 4 days per week for either 3, 4, or 7 hours per day.  The program incorporates a hands-on approach and encourages the development of student skills in research and compilation of material from a variety of sources, including the Internet, guest speakers, group projects, and more standard conventional sources such as textbooks. This program is limited to 8 students per instructor per session.

$550 per month

Assisted Independent

The Assisted Independent Study program is most appropriate for self-motivated students wishing to have greater freedom with the scheduling of study times, and/or students who wish to remain enrolled in another school or program or maintain part-time employment. The Assisted Study program works well for students who enjoy personal research and locating and compiling information on their own and at their own pace, with more limited and less structured Sponsor involvement than in the Directed Study program.

Students will have a scheduled time to meet with a Sponsor on a weekly basis, in a small-group setting. The Sponsor is expected to maintain the position of a mentor or advisor and will assist students with scheduling, but the students themselves are responsible for maintaining a pace to complete coursework in a timely manner.

$350 per month

Correspondence

The Correspondence Study program is available to students residing more than 50 miles from a local instructional center. Correspondence study students of Desiderata enjoy significantly more attention than conventional correspondence programs.

The Correspondence Study program is designed for students who are working with their Sponsor through mail, telephone, or via the Internet. This program is similar to the Assisted Study Program in that students primarily work on their own, seeking Sponsor assistance when tutoring is required. This program works particularly well for highly motivated students who can work independently and who use computers with access to the Internet.

Tuition:

$100 per month
