About
Desiderata School has been serving students and the community since 1989. We are accredited by a nationally recognized agency (NCES) as a non-traditional, private school offering homeschool support for all students and families.
What this means for your child:
-
Families are free to choose the school
-
Students who struggle in a subject and require more time to meet mastery levels may take the time to do so.
-
Students who participate in community activities, such as local sports team, and other learning-worthy activities, may also calculate those hours towards their schooling requirements.
Accreditation
Desiderata School is accredited by The National Commission for Exceptional Schools.
The NCES is recognized as an accreditation agency by The Federal Department of Education as well as The Colorado Department of Education.
The State Board of Education in Colorado cannot accredit private schools. Desiderata School is therefore accredited by an independent accrediting agency. Desiderata chose the NCES due to its flexibility in development of non- traditional programs while still maintaining high standards of learning for all students of its member schools.
